Catherine Johnson is the owner of Silk Thermal Imaging. After 17 years in the biotech research industry—the last 8 as a freelance medical writer for Pfizer—she decided to make a change. After being a consumer of Thermography herself for over 5 years, she knew that very few women were aware that this technology even existed.
With her background in research, coupled with having not only her mother-in-law but one of her closest friends become victims of breast cancer, she spent the first half of 2009 delving into breast cancer, cancer, mammography and thermography. By the time she completed her research, she realized that in spite of spending the previous 17 years in pharmaceutical research, there was a lot she didn’t know. And if she didn’t know, that meant most of the women out there didn’t know it either. In August of 2009 she compiled all of her research data, put together a presentation and began giving seminars.
Today Catherine continues on her quest to educate women in hopes of sparing them and their families the emotional, physical and financial ruin that accompanies a breast cancer diagnosis. She can be reached at (619) 788-6785 or via email.
